Weekend Garden Jobs – 7 February 2014
Well the weather doesn’t look at improving any time soon so the appeal of gardening is practically non existent, however, if you do get a break in the weather then here are a couple of jobs for you to do.
Keep off water logged borders and lawns and if you have had standing water on your lawn which has since disappeared then go over the area with a garden fork digging in the tines all over the affected area.
Clear up leaves and other garden debris as this can harbour garden pests and diseases.
As frost isn’t a problem at the moment you can prune lavatera, buddleia, continus and not forgetting your wisterias.
Treat yourself to a new tree or shrub and plant it.
Due to the high winds check all tree ties, fences and trellis.
If the weather is really awful then there’s always the Winter Olympics and Six Nations to watch.
Have a fabulous (dry) weekend
