Weekend Garden Jobs
So far this month has been mild but the weather is set to turn much colder this weekend with a touch of the white stuff in places so if you haven’t done so already protect your tenders.
Lift and store dahlia’s.
Trees and hedging can be planted now.
With frosts forecast the remaining leaves will rapidly fall off the trees don’t waste them, collect/rake them up and store in bin bags to make leaf mold.
Lift terracotta pots off the floor.
If you’ve a bare patch of soil dig it over – using a spade roughly dig the ground over leaving the clumps of soil where they fall and the winter weather will do the hard work of breaking it down for you.
Now that the weather is turning cooler don’t forget to feed the birds.
Finally look after your garden tools – clean spades and garden forks from soil, sharpen secateurs, lawn edgers and shears.
Whatever you’re doing this weekend may it be fabulous
