Weekend Garden Jobs

Weekend Garden Jobs

Winter has nearly finished with just one more day to go Spring is tantalisingly around the corner and you can certainly feel some warmth in the sun but let’s not get too carried away as March can have a sting in its tail with heavy frosts and the occasional snow!!

Sow sweet pea‘s – These can been sown in a greenhouse or on a sunny windowsill – I have had mine in the kitchen and have already had to pinch the tops out already as they were getting rather larger as it’s a bit too warm for them!!

Prune your roses.

Lift and divide herbaceous border plants – dig around the clump and lift out of the ground, take 2 garden forks and place back to back in the clump and begin to prize the plant apart – make as many clumps as you wish.

Start off begonia tubers.

Buy and plant out summer flowering bulbs such as Gladioli and lillies.

Brighten up your outdoor tubs and pots with polyanthus and primroses.

Plant bare root trees and shrubs.

Enjoy your weekend.
